Yearly goals list: UPDATE...

I just wanted to stop by my blog and post that I have already marked one item off my list, well partially anyway. I have been pulling a few hours wrenching at my LBS www.epbicycles.com. In just the few days and about 8 hours of total time in the back I have a completely different appreciation for bike shops. There is so much that goes into every bike. I do know that not all bikes go through as much as the bikes down at EP/BC. Brian has a really good way of doing things and strict attention to every detail. I love working on bikes and being in that atmosphere.

We never know what life holds for us but I do know that I love the world of cycling and having a job were I could do that would be awesome. You never know, maybe years from now I will have a shop of my own somewhere. Well that's it for now, I can't wait to get back in the shop and finish up on a build I was working on today, a sweet Specialized Tricross Elite. Awesome bike, come down to Eastern Panhandle Bicycles(www.epbicycles.com) and check them out...maybe i'll be there!

It was a good day...

Yesterday was a good day for me. I really don't have any bad days, besides the ones that I have weekend drill on, which happens to be today, but yesterday was better then usual. I got to do some wrenching at www.epbicycles.com. I have always wanted to someday do some work in a bike shop.

I love the sport and learning all I can about bikes and components. Brian at the shop is very knowledgeable and I learned more then I thought about assembling a bike. I have put bikes together in the past but it was nice to be shown the proper way to set everything up ahead of time. He also showed me the ons and outs of trueing a wheel. I need a lot more work on that to master it though. These are things I have always wanted to learn. I am so pumped to be working in the bike shop some. Well that is it for now and I hope to be back in the shop some on Tuesday to learn some more and work on a few bikes.

Thanks for reqding, that's if anyone actually reads this...

Airborne Bicycles Flightcrew App Filed

I submitted my application to be a part of a small group of devoted riders for the Airborne Bicycle Company. Being a part of the flight crew would allow me to continue to do what I love, which is ride and write reviews on their equipment. They are a return company that is building affordable quality rigs for all types of riding. I am a fan of the Goblin. That is their hardtail 29'er. For me getting this bike would be perfect. I am unsure about the while 29'er world and a bike like this would be perfect to dive into this new continent in the world of cycling.

I am really focusing on getting my online presence on the rise. With all my other obligations this will prove to be a difficult task. I am going to give this thing a try though. I hope to be writing interesting things for all of you to read. Thanks for reading.

Fresh Start to the New Year...

In this new year I have started this new blog, I also have another child on the way. I am very excited about both. I just wanted to write a little post to lay out a few things that I would like to get accomplished in this year, cycling related of course. This list is in no particular order and many of these things I will be writing posts about throughout the year.

1. Upgrade/Rebirthing of the Titus Motolite.
2. Ride at least 1000 miles on the roadie.
3. Compete in the Cranky Monkey race series again this year and finish at least one place higher.
4. Start pulling some part-time hours at the LBS.
5. Get at least one other of my friends hooked on cycling.
6. Get my wife on a bike at least once.
7. Get my work space in the garage organized.
8. Do at least 500 miles in the mountains.

This seems like a short list but there is a lot there to accomplish, I guess I better get started sooner then later. I already have about 75 miles on the roadie done this year thus far...

First Post, New Blogger...

It seems that a blog is kind of the thing to do these days, I believe that having a blog, then having people to read it would be better then Facebook and all that. Here I will write about what I love, cycling. I say cycling because I enjoy mountain biking but I also enjoy road biking as well. So feel free to follow along on my journey...
